I don’t feel like writing anything inspiring about the end of the year and the start of a new one. Everybody else has pretty much covered that. I think I’ll just mention things that never happened before and which I certainly won’t forget.

1. I learned that it is reasonable to have a work ethic that is only as strong as your employer’s commitment to you.
2. Somebody literally dumped a ton of emotional baggage on my front porch. It took three trips to Goodwill to get rid of it all.
3. I left the country twice in a year.
4. I started complaining about all the stupid, rude teenagers, making me a real grownup.
