A Chat and A Playlist

Her: doing any better?
Me: Just a bit. You can’t stay distraught forever, that’s the nice part. It’s very tiring. I’m listening to sad/angry music and it’s helping.
Her: haha. you are being just a tad emo. everyone’s a little emo sometimes
Me: Yup. But you get what I mean though, right? Something really gets you down, so you just have to let it take you for a little while. You just have to BE miserable so that you can get sick of it and get out of the funk.
Her: yep
Me: That’s preferable to not getting it out of your system and remaining chronically grumpy
Her: how very sensible and healthy of you. ;) . . . i’m a classic passive aggressive. i should just embrace the funk.
Me: It’s the most efficient way of dealing with being unhappy, I suppose.
Her: lol
Me: Make yourself sick with your emo wallowing.
Her: well it can be pretty satisfying too
Me: Yeah in a really stupid self-pitying way.
Her: you should totally listen to the Rent soundtrack too. whatever works. it’s fun!
Me: Then once you see that you’re actually enjoying being miserable you’re happy again. Very strange.
Her: yep. and you”ll get sick of the music and switch to other stuff
